Asahi Baseball
Color | Branding | Design | Prototyping
Spring 2026
Done in collaboration with Gabriel Cochon
Problem: Using an existing brand’s design language, expand their product line into a new sport.
Process: Our group was given baseball as our sport, and through research we learned about the Vancouver Asahi, a Japanese-Canadian team from the turn of the century. We aimed to honor that history through a shared name, but also by selecting Japanese streetwear brand Kapital to mimic their design language and influence from the patterns and textures of Japanese woodblock art.
Tasks:
- Research into the history of baseball in the Vancouver area.
- Moodboards to establish color, brand style, and new branding
- Brand development
- Uniform design
- Jersey patternmaking & prototyping
Outcome: We designed four uniforms and an accessory line in Kapital’s design language. A home jersey and pants were prototyped and presented.
Impact: We balanced the needs of various competing requirements and regulations: Kapital’s established design language, MLB uniform regulation, Vancouver’s culture, and historical context for the Vancouver Asahi.
Rain Jacket
Design | Patternmaking | Prototyping
Fall 2025
Problem: Design, draft, and prototype a technical jacket from scratch. I wanted to create something that could be worn in a casual setting about town with jeans, not just an active performance environment.
Process:
- Sketching
- Patternmaking & prototyping
- Detailed focus on sleeves, hood, and pocket development
Outcome: After multiple prototypes, a final, fully functional jacket was completed.
Lessons Learned: Each pattern change and prototype pushed the project forward. One major lesson learned came from a near finished prototype burning while applying seam sealer.
Vignelli Medal
Product Design | CAD | Fabrication
Spring 2020
Josh Owen Design, LLC
This project was a collaboration with Josh Owen, Melissa Dawson, Bruce Ian Meader, Geoffrey Pyle and Matthew Pyle of Arttech Casting Co. and Bridget Sheehan
Problem: While working with Josh Owen LLC, we were approached to craft an award to honor the legacy of Massimo and Leila Vignelli that was planned to be given to celebrate Distinguished Professor of Design, Roger Remington. The award would be established for future honors for the design school’s Distinguished Professors.
Process: I was tasked with explored design ideas through sketches and prototyping with a variety of materials and processes. After a collaborative effort to finalize a design, I managed identifying a manufacturer and oversaw the crafting of the final product.
- Ideation & sketching
- Prototyping
- CAD development
Outcome: A timeless item that honors the ethos of Vignelli design through reading “Design is One” in Helvetica type and a “Vignelli red” ribbon.
Impact: The established medal honors the legacy of the Vignelli’s and the Center for Design Studies established at RIT, while also honoring distinguished design professors who have worked at the university.

Carhartt Tech Pack
Technical Drawing | Construction
Spring 2026
Done in collaboration with AJ James
Problem: We were tasked with taking an existing garment, improve up on it, and create a comprehensive tech pack for the update.
Process: My partner and I established what what liked in the existing jacket and what features we would like to incorporate. We agreed upon a new design and across a series of collaborative sessions and individual efforts, developed all the elements needed for the full tech pack.
Tasks:
- Supported in measurements
- Drew all technical drawings
- Refined ‘Order of Operations’
- Compiled final document
Outcome: A detailed tech pack ready for manufacturing our new jacket was completed.
Lessons Learned: This was an in-depth exposure to tech packs and was deeply educational, in particular how to organize such a dense document.
